H e l l o . . . ?

So, to be honest, I'm a little disappointed. So far Ashley(Gardner) is the only one to leave a suggestion for the summer of adventure. THANK YOU ASH!!! (I might just be able to pull that off this summer on my cruise! Yay!!) Come on peeps, I need your help. Anything goes! It can be what ever... Today for something new, I played "webkinz". My friend at work's kid loves me. (Can ya blame him?...My celeb look a like is Rosanne after all) He's 5 years old and super cute. He always tells me how pretty I am and brings me little cards and other things he makes me. Well, this week he brought me a webkin. Webkins are stuffed animals that have virtual realities online. Mine is a little white poodle named Snow White. You can dress them shop for them play games, all sorts of stuff that I haven't figured out yet. Anyway, he was so excited to give it to me so we could be friends online. (I'm really hoping to meet Chris Hansen from Dateline with this adventure) So, that is what I did today to experience something new. See, it doesn't have to be something extravagant, just something new. I'll be expecting some suggestions....

Gangsta came home!!!

So, some of you know this, but for the rest of you...I am currently cat-sitting for the summer. My friend, Vinny, is doing summer sales in St Louis, so I am watching his cat, Gangsta... yes, Gansta is the cat's name...and yes, it is spelled with a second "a" instead of an "er"(he's got the tags to prove it) Gangsta technically moved in about two weekes ago. We brought all his stuff over and got him all set up. The first night went exploring, no big deal, just checking the lay of the land. He is apparently a thug afterall. The probelm came when he didn't come back. First few days, no big deal, but after a week I got pretty nervous. Some cat-sitter I was... Well, last night I was in the kitchen and heard the little jingling of Kitty cat tags. I went outside and there he was. The prodigal son had returned. Almost two weeks later. YAY!!!! So for those of you who were worried, you can all relax. The kitty came home.

I'm looking for suggestions...

So, my roommate Meggan and I had named this The Summer of Adventure '08. We are all about trying new things, seeing new places, having new experiences and meeting new people. We're currently making lists and trying to formulate our plans...which any of you are welcome to join BTW.

We are looking for any suggestions for what we should do/try this summer. Anything goes here...it can be absolutely outlandish and absurd, or even something just minor but fun. Think of it as a "bucket list" of sorts. So far, we have a list of 21 adventures but I am hesitant to list any of them here. We've found ourselves in a little bit of a rut, as far as ideas and I don't want to influence any of your ideas.

So.. what I am asking you to do is to post a comment, text me, call me, email me, etc with your ideas or lists of ideas. I would love you forever, and will award the best idea with a prize. Also, if you are going on/having any adventures and need a friend, I'm in!!

Vegas Baby!!!

I've been meaning to blog about my Vegas trip for awhile now, so here goes...

At the end of March my friend Vinny and I decided to go to Vegas to see the Cubs v Mariners exhibition game. We decided Tuesday or Wednesday and left Friday morning. We drove down in time for the game on Friday. It was lots of fun! The crowd was pretty into it (at least where we were sitting) so that made it entertaining. In the end, my Mariners won.
After the game, it was still fairly early, so we went to play on the strip. We wandered around, the usual. We spent most of our time at the Belagio (or at least took most of the pics there). The garden was really cool this time. It was very Spring-y! They had made so many cool things out of the flowers. I think it might be my favorite!
I really loved the watering cans and the snail...
The fountain show was a classic as usual. And for those of you who are wondering... they didn't play the Pink Panther.
Saturday, we went to Hoover Dam. I had never been there, but I had heard great things from Les. It was a wonderful 85 degree day. The Dam was impressive, I must say. That thing is HUGE!!

The craziest part though, was the road they are building. It just sticks right out there...not quite how ya build something like that.

After the Dam we went back to the strip and chilled for a bit. The next day, as we were driving back from a beautiful weekend of 85 degree weather, it began to snow. By the time we hit Nephi, it was yucky weather the whole way home. We almost turned around and headed back to Vegas. All in all it was a great trip.

This Must Be a Joke!!!!

So, Thursday when I left for work, this is what I saw...Do you see our tulips?!? They're so sad. I had to scrape my car off...I want to remind you this is May 1st, 30 days from Summer and it snowed!!!! Don't worry though. I think it was God's little prank...when I got home a little after 5pm that same day it looked like this...

Yeah!!! Maybe Summer is coming after all!!

Daxton ? Young

SO, last night around 9:30p Kyler got a new baby brother. Jana and Brett are named him Daxton (middle name to come later) Young. He is 9lbs 7oz, and 21 inches. Jana had him all natural...which I can't decide makes her a superstar or freaking nuts. He's super cute and his big brother Kyler is pretty excited about him(most of the time). The Folks, Kyler and I got to see Daxton around 10:30. Not too long after that, the nurse came to check Jana...so Kyler and I went to the hall. We took pics of Kyler jumping. It only took about 15 tries to get one while he was in the air. He was pretty pumped though. Kyler made sure to give his new baby bro a kiss before we left. What a sweetie. Anyway, just wanted to welcome little Daxton ?? Young to the world.

IT WAS A GOOD MAIL DAY!!!!

When I pulled into the driveway today, there was a big box sitting on our porch. I was so excited! I knew exactly what it was. My parents got me a guitar for my birthday, and I was pretty sure that was it. I am an official guitar owner now. I had started trying to learn how to play with my roommate's guitar and book. Just as I had suspected, I am somewhat of a prodigy. After only 2 hours I had taught myself to play "when the saints go marching in." I have to pause inbetween notes to change finger placement, but still, that's pretty impressive right? I'm telling you, now that I have the guitar, I will be playing "classical gas" by the end of the week. My roommate, got a "yellow box" from her missionary today as well. When she found out, she declared it to be a "good mail day." We had to laugh at her a little for her missionary phrase.

Play Date with Kyler

My nephew Kyler and I have a standing play date on Tuesday nights. His parents have a hypno-birthing class(don't ask...)so he comes and plays with me. This week, we celebrated the slowly warming weather with sidewalk chalk and sidewalk paint. Those of you have lived with me may remember that sidewalk chalk may be one of my very most favorite things!!! We drew all sorts of pics. Kyler loved the paint, especially the pink..his favorite color. He helped me draw his name, then we put "grass" on it. We have tons of fun and got just a little bit dirty. I kind of love that kid!!

St Paddy's day at MacCool's

So this St. Paddy's Day may have been my best yet!! It was a pretty fun day. It started off great. I worked from home for the first part of the day. When I did get to work, (around 1pm) the girls in the office had decorated my office. It was fabulous!! They had banners, flags, flowers and even a paperweight. They knew how much I enjoy the holiday, so they even got me a vase of green carnations. They're pretty great!!

After work it was on to dinner at MacCool's. This was the 3rd Annual St. Paddy's Day Celebration at MacCool's. (For those of you who aren't in the know, MacCool's is an Irish public house, or pub, in foothill village.) The wait was crazy ridiculous, but I figured it would be so I went up way early. We still had to split our group into 2 separate tables. I felt bad about that, but I think every one still had lots of fun. There was even a leprechaun siting. This man showed up in FULL leprechaun attire...down to the glued on red beard. At first we assumed he worked there, because he even had a sign for the hostess desk. However, who we presume to be his son showed up and they went in to have some dinner. Les, Stella, and I got our pictures taken with him. I mean, how can you turn down getting your picture taken with a leprechaun?!? Anyway, dinner was good, the atmosphere was great and the company was fabulous!! It ended up being lots of fun! You should all come next year!!!!!

This is one of the tables. From Left to right...Erin, Erin's Roommate, Kim, me, Allan, Stacy, and Jenni.

Les, Stella, and JoeNick, Ashley, and Clay
Melanie, Meggan, and Me

This is my favorite picture from the night!

Even Stella knew there was something off with this guy.

HAPPY SAINT PATRICK'S DAY!!!

So...by the time anyone reads this, it will officially be St. Patrick's Day!!!! I felt it would almost be sacrilege not to pay tribute to my Irish heritage. (How can I not be proud of my peeps when they are known for drinking too much, eating potatoes, and having red hair?) Besides decking out my blog with green and playing Irish music, I will be celebrating by having dinner with a "few" friends at Mac Cools. It's an Irish public house in foothill village. I'm pretty excited! There will be lots of people there, so I'll make sure to take pics and blog about it after. Until then I hope you all really celebrate the snake chasing saint, Patrick. Won't you be my Jillian

So, as we all know I am the queen of good intentions. This especially aplies to my workouts routine. I always have these big dreams of getting up and going to the gym every morning before work. However, I really like to sleep, but I also like to stay up late. This means, most mornings when alarm goes off, I get up just long enough to turn it off and go back to sleep. LBH I can hardley get up early enough to get to work on time. Then, I usually work late or have some kind of plans after work.

I've decided I need my own Jillian Michaels to yank me out of bed and force me to kick my own ass. I need my own bully. However, I here she's kind of busy with this Biggest Loser show or something. Well, I have an idea. I again have this plan to go to the gym in the am. There is a Power Pump class at 4:50am. My alarm is set and everything. I just need a favor from you. I need you to check in with me. ASk me if I went to the power pump class. When you read this call me, or just make sur eyou ask me next time you see me. Maybe that will help me get out of bed in the morning...knowing that if I don't, I'll have to answer to someone. Then maybe one day I can look like Jillian Michaels in this pic. Well, that's it. I'll let you know how it goes. I better go to bed though ....so that I can get up in the morning.

Happy Birthday to ME!!!...and Heavy!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME,

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME,

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR ME-E,

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!

So I just turned 27 on Sunday, and I have been having one of the best birthdays ever! The festivities officially kicked off on Saturday night. Heather and I have a birthday at Cafe Trio in Cottonwood. Bret used his connections to get a separate room for all of us. Thanks Bret!

It was all sorts of fun!! the whole gang was there almost. We had babies, kids, adults, singles, marrieds, soon-to-be-marrieds , gays, straights, questionables (you know who you are...Taylor). Heavs and I were popular! I think the poor waitress was a little overwhelmed.

Heather and I totally got spoiled! You guys were good to us! We each got a purse FULL of surprises. Wendy Phip even made me an apron(which I have already put to good use during munch and mingle)

We topped the night off with some cheesecake. Les almost set off the fire alarm with all of the candles in the middle of the cake, but that would have just made it more fun! Heather is a very fun person to share a birthday week with, and we have some pretty great ends!!!!!

The next day, on my actual birthday, I served cake for Munch and Mingle to celebrate me and my birthday. After church, my roommates (mostly Meggan) made me a very pink cake and pink ice cream. They also gave me a couple presents, including High School Musical 2! Now I can be considered a true fan. I have both movies and High School Musical Mystery Date. Now if that doesn't scream Girl's Night, I don't know what does. I must say I do have some pretty fabulous roommates!

Sunday evening I went to my parents where I had more cake and another birthday dinner. My mom made steak chimichuri and it was so yummy! Neil was out of town, but Mica did bring Ripken, their new puppy. I kind of have the best family ever. So, like I said, I have been having the best birthday ever!
